Volunteer of the Year!

We are so incredibly chuffed to see our very own long standing volunteer Vicky Bastow be shortlisted for a Yorkshire Choice Award in 20181 for Volunteer of the Year!

Vicky has volunteered at Mount Pleasant long before the current management team took over in 2013 and every Saturday, come rain or shine, she comes to photograph our dogs that are awaiting adoption.

More than that, over the years Vicky has advertised dogs for us and has helped us find some brilliant families for our pooches. She also works tirelessly for us to help find brilliant rescue spaces for dogs to stay in whilst they find their forever families. And we are not the only kennels she does this for, she supports a number of kennels in the Yorkshire region and all in her own time (she works full time too)!!

Most recently Vicky has set up her own dog rescue, Good Life Rescue, and she now helps even more dogs.

Vicky has helped us and other kennels save literally thousands of canine lives over the years and she is a very special lady. We are so pleased she is going to be recognised at the Yorkshire Choice Awards, it is thoroughly deserved. So we thank you Vicky from the bottom of our hearts, from all of us at Mount Pleasant and all the pooches and their families who you have helped. We think you are a legend! Well Done Vix!

We are definitely voting for Vicky and we’d love it if all our fantastic followers and supporters would vote for Vicky too.
