The Importance of Microchipping!

When it comes to finding a lost and beloved pet, microchips are the most effective way to be reunited!

A pet microchip is simply a tiny computer (about the size of a grain of rice) that contains a unique code, matching up to your pets details. It is a permanent form of identification. As long as the pet details are kept up to date, you will always be contacted if your dog goes missing!

As a stray kennels we rely on microchips to reunite our furry friends with their owners. But it is sad to say, more often than not, our strays tend to have no microchip or if they have the details are very much out of date.

Without identification we are unable to let you know that your pooch has been found. Even though we can tell some have come from loving homes, sadly with no microchip there is nothing we can do!

After 7 days if no one has come forward, we find them new loving families instead! Although this is still a positive outcome, we know that somewhere out there a heartbroken owner is missing them terribly.

We cannot stress how important it is to keep your dog’s details up to date. Not only that but since the 6th of April 2016 it has been law that all dogs in England, Scotland and Wales must be microchipped. Owners can face up to a £500 fine if they are not chipped!
